Sam was born in 1971, Producer, composer, singer- songwriter, harmonica player, guitar player. He learned on his own by listening to old blues and R&B records while he was just a child. He first appeared on stage, playing harmonica with a French artiste Jacques Higelin, at the tender age of six years. A few years later, he appeared on a special blues night in Paris at which John Lee Hooker and Willie Dixon gave him the name of  Little Magic Sam. That same night he met John Hammond jr, Sugar Blue and  Luther Allison surprised to see Sam playing harmonica at such a prestigious event. They had met few years before when Sam was just five years old.

June 1986, Sam flew to Chicago. Big Time Sarah hired him to play harmonica. “Breaking News” on several channels TV : “The little blues boy of summer 86’s” and also in the “Chicago Tribune” Interview : “A 14 year old french kid and Chicago blues”.

He also performed all over Chicago with  Biggest Names of the Blues : Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, James Cotton, Jimmie Johnson, Billy Branch, Lonnie Brooks and so many others. He went back the following year to learn more about the blues and performed every night with more other bluesmen such as Sunnyland Slim, Big Daddy Kinsey… and notable female artists such as Zora Young, Valerie Wellington, Joanna Connor and many others.

When Sam went back  to France, Luther Allison took him on the road playing Europe and the U.S.A. When Luther’s son Bernard joined the band, they became good friends and worked together too.

In 1989, at Montreux Jazz Festival, they opened for Roy Rodgers. Claude Nobbs invited Sam to appear on stage with B.B. King, Johnnie Taylor, Eddie Floyd and the Malacco Rythm Session. After the show he played in a special all night jam session at the hotel with Steve Cropper and The Blues Brothers Band and many others big names of the Blues and R&B.

Few years later, he left The Luther Allison Band and went on his own, performing in Europe with his own material. He started to play guitar and sing. Even if Luther was still his mentor, his style changed to “Chicago Heart & Soul Blues”, a truly dynamic, strong, kicking style of music. Sam has been inspired by artists such as Jimi Hendrix or  Bluesmen like Freddie King, Magic Sam, Howling Wolf, Muddy Water, Little Walter, Big Walter Horton, James Cotton, Little Milton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Otis Redding, Bob Marley and of course Luther Allison.

March 1997,  Sam jammed with Luther at  “Petit Journal Montparnasse” who told him that they would record an album together when he return from his American tour but unfortunately he died during it.

He replaced Poppa Chubby  (health trouble) Festival du Creusot, was on tour in Greece, and even took Diana Kroll’s spot on Tabarka Jazz Festival in Tunisia…

He inherited the real blues from the best of the blues musicians and this is why Sam keeps the blues alive and especially the “memory of Luther Allison”.

Today, Sam is back with 4 of his titles on his release EP “No more time”…
